Elephant Charge 2010 Causes

In 2010 the Elephant Charge is supporting the following causes:

Lusaka National Park
Zambia has 19 National Parks, 34 Game Management Areas and 23 million hectares devoted to conservation. These are all more than 4 hours drive from Lusaka and remain out of reach for most Zambians.

There are few urban Zambians who can say they have seen any of Zambia???s rich wildlife. Now there is the opportunity - with National Park number 20 opening soon - right on the doors of Zambia's capital.

During the course of 2009 the Park was stocked with some zebra, kudu, waterbuck, impala, puku, bushbuck and sable antelope. Common duiker and bushpig were already there. More reintroductions will follow in 2010.

The Elephant Charge plans to build two substantial hides at strategic waterholes to enhance the experience of the visitors to the park. It is hoped that schools in Lusaka will take advantage of this new park and many school children will visit these hides.
